Supporting Autistic Teenagers & Young Adults

An online learning series: 30th Sept – 1st Oct 2022

Watch live and/or stream recordings of all webinars for 30 days

Welcome to Autism Learns. Brought to you by the organisers of The Autism Show, we provide trusted and affordable online learning to parents, family carers and professionals who support children and adults on the autism spectrum.

Adolescence and early adulthood can be especially challenging for autistic people. Feelings of social isolation, lack of self-worth, and pressures to learn and be more independent, lead to a heighted vulnerability and proneness to mental health difficulties.

In this online learning series, our team of leading autism specialists will share practical approaches to help you successfully support autistic teenagers and young adults through the testing time of adolescence. We’ll examine the best learning environments for autistic students and uncover teaching strategies to enable engagement and development. We’ll also explore the mental health issues which many autistic teens face, including anxiety, depression and eating disorders, and look ahead to the transition into adulthood.

You can choose to watch the webinars live and seek personalised advice from our speakers, and/or stream recordings afterwards and watch when most convenient to you.

Learnings include:

  • Creating the best learning environment for autistic teens
  • Teaching strategies for teenage students
  • Understanding sensory challenges and how that can create distressed behaviour
  • School refusal – a breakdown or breakthrough?
  • Gender diversity and autism: supporting autistic teens
  • Autism and anxiety
  • Eating disorders
  • Preparing autistic teens and young adults for the complicated world of dating

Book the two day series now for just £49.99 for parents and family carers, and £74.99 for professionals. Content is CPD certified. Price includes 30 day access to recordings of all webinars in the series.
